Raquex, our partner here at Proper Padel, has teamed up with Crayola to bring creativity onto the padel court. The result is a junior racquet that children customise before they play.

Designed for players aged six to twelve, the carbon-fibre racquet has a wipe-clean playing surface. Kids colour it in using the four Crayola markers included in the box, take it on court, then wipe it clean with a cloth and start a fresh design for their next game.

Two designs at launch

Each racquet has a different colour-in theme on either side. The yellow version has a space theme on one face and dinosaurs on the other. The pink version has unicorns and rainbows on one side and a nature theme on the reverse. Both are designed in the UK.

Built for junior players

The colouring is the headline, but Raquex is clear that the racquet underneath still has to do its job. It has a full carbon-fibre construction and weighs 285g, and the round head gives a generous sweet spot. It also comes with a cushioned grip and a fitted wrist strap.

Raquex founder Olly Rose said: “We were clear from the outset that the creative experience couldn’t come at the expense of the racquet itself. The colourable surface is what makes it fun and personal, but underneath, it still needed to be a racquet designed to help children enjoy playing and developing their game.”

Why Raquex made it

Rose said the idea came from wanting to make something children would be excited to pick up. “Our first thought was a Raquex racquet in Crayola colours, but it clicked when we found a way to make the playing surface itself something children could colour in.”

He also pointed to the bigger picture for the sport: “The more children who start padel young, the stronger the level of player becomes.”

For Crayola, the project is about bringing creativity into active play. Rob Spindley, International Licensing Director at Crayola, said the partnership “provides a new canvas for self-expression through active play.”

Growing the junior game

The launch comes as padel keeps growing across the UK. The LTA reported one million adults and juniors playing at 1,825 courts across 551 venues in May 2026. Getting more children into the game early is a big part of what comes next, and a racquet designed to be personal and fun is a different approach to the usual junior kit.

It’s been a big year for Raquex. The brand was named Best Racket Brand at the inaugural British Padel Awards in May 2026, and its elite padel balls received official International Padel Federation approval in March.

Price and availability

The Raquex x Crayola junior padel racquets are available to pre-order from today at £69.90 each. You can get them through Raquex online (raquex.com), selected Raquex stockists and partner clubs. Replacement marker sets are available through Raquex.

Getting juniors more involved is ultimately going to boost the sport in the UK, this is going to improve our level more and more and help in the aim to reach the level of padel that is seen in the UK. Who knows the next UK no.1 could start by using the Raquex x Crayola racket.
