On 28th July, Carbon Padel Club opened its doors to the general public, and even in this short space of time, the club has been a real hit amongst all varieties of players. The club boasts nine indoor doubles courts, and uniquely, two singles courts, making it one of the largest Padel venues in the UK.

The club is based in Manchester, with the venue just a few minutes drive from the city centre. All of Carbon Padel Clubs bookings go through the Playtomic app, with the club providing a discount to all players in the first few weeks of being open (soft launch). Furthermore, the club have also made the extra effort to put on sessions in the opening weeks such as Intro To Padel, Americano tournaments and social sessions, amongst many other eye-catching activities.

The Proper Padel team will be ranking this club in four different categories. These four categories are: Price, Courts, Location and Facilities, and will be giving each category a score out of 10, meaning the club will receive an end score out of 40.

Price – 9/10

In relation to court costs, we feel Carbon Padel Club have got it spot on; especially in terms of the discount players receive in the first few weeks of being open. This benefits both the players (as it costs less to book) and also the club as they can build up their community with existing and new players coming through the door to play matches. The court costs are £36 per hour in off-peak hours (any weekday before 4pm) and £48 per hour in peak times (anytime after 5pm on weekdays and anytime at the weekend).

Courts – 10/10

The fully indoor premium venue boasts 11 indoor courts, which include nine doubles courts (the showcase Carbon Court included) and two unique singles courts, which in Manchester, is one a kind (for now!). The courts also possess an original feature, with the area behind the service line being a lighter blue, compared to the service box areas, which are a darker shade of blue.

Not only do the courts feature ‘Mondo’ turf, but, they replicate the scene of the World Padel Tour, which is now known as Premier Padel (the top level of Padel in the world). The ‘Mondo’ turf is what is seen in Premier Padel, therefore, Carbon Padel Club boast what are some of the highest quality courts in the UK. Finally, if you are an individual that thinks that Padel is very noisy, almost like a gun shot noise, the venue benefits from having double layered ceiling-to-floor noise cancelling curtains running alongside every court.

Location – 10/10

The venue is situated in Ardwick, Manchester and is easy to get to by train, bus or car. In addition, there is a car park with enough spaces for every player right outside the venue, and clear signage of how to get to the front entrance. Furthermore, the venue attracts both well established Padel players and also lots of players who are trying the sport out for the first time, due to its location and fair prices. The venue is only a four-minute train journey, a 10-minute Uber and a 13-minute bus ride away from Manchester Piccadilly station, making it a hot-spot in town!

Facilities – 9/10

Carbon Padel Club has so much to offer for players, including cheap racquet rentals coming in at only £2 per racquet, making the sport more accessible for players. In addition, the club has a lounge area upstairs, a large bar area and shop, extra seating downstairs for players to watch the action, a fair amount of space in between each court, a warm-up area for players to get their blood pumping and lastly, changing and shower facilities for players to use before/after their match.

The bar area has a wide selection of cold/hot drinks, including sports energy drinks, vitamin drinks, coffee, smoothies, and even offers hot food or snacks. Furthermore, the club shop has a variety of different level racquets for players to browse, from beginnner level racquets to advanced racquets for consistent players to purchase to level up their game. The sleek backdrop allows those who ‘WFH’ to work easily from the venue; with comfy seating and tables overlooking the action on the courts.

Overall Score – 38/40

With world-class courts, a central location, and facilities to rival any UK venue, Carbon Padel Club sets a new benchmark for padel in Manchester. It’s already one of our top-rated clubs, and we expect it to become a national hub for the sport.

you can’t call the courts 10/10 if you can’t truely run out with enough space on both sides

Hi Nardz, You can run out on the ‘Carbon Court’, however we understand it is not feasible for every court to have run out space hence why it does not play a major factor in the rankings!
