The Proper Padel team have been lucky enough to visit Destination Padel in Northwich multiple times, most notably when we attended one of JM Padel Academy‘s events ran by Jason Manford. The club is located on an industrial estate in Northwich, and possesses five indoor courts, with one premium ‘show-court’. The club has long opening hours, which are 7am-10pm on weekdays, 7am-9pm on Saturdays and 8am-8pm on Sundays, meaning there is lots of time for players to get their padel fix in!

All court bookings, like many other clubs in the Northwest, are made through the Playtomic mobile app, where you can find regular court bookings and also events that the club run, such as social sessions and competitive tournaments. We will be ranking this club on the following four categories: Price, courts, location and facilities. Each category will be ranked out of 10, giving the club an overall end score out of 40.

Labelled ‘The Home of Indoor Padel’, the club opened its doors in December 2024 and shares the vision of “Whether you’re a beginner or an ace, we make sure everyone feels at home”. The club also offer private coaching with Phil Spencer, a Level 5 Master Club Coach and Padel Instructor with the LTA.

Price – 7/10

The prices at Destination Padel are as follows: £42 per hour on weekdays (before 4pm), £48 per hour (after 4pm) and £48 per hour anytime at the weekends. The clubs prices are slightly inflated due to the venue being fully indoor and well ventilated, however, we have found cheaper in and around the Manchester area. On the other hand, a price of £10.50 per person (off-peak) is fair and appealing if you can play at that time. The club offer racquet rental, which is £2 for an hour and also sell lots of clothing and merchandise.

This could be a higher score if it was cheaper, however it is understandable with the price due to the sheer cost of an indoor facility.

Courts – 9/10

The courts at Destination Padel are top quality, whether you are playing on the black show court with pink lines or any of the four pink courts with white lines. The courts play fast, allowing for fast-paced action and intense rallies, while the glass on each court is brilliant to use to carry on the point. Furthermore, there is plenty of space in between each court, meaning players can warm-up well before their match starts or take their time warming-down once their match has finished. Due to the courts being fully indoor, there isn’t often balls that get lost, which is a slight issue we have found at some other venues.

It is hard to find faults with the courts, which is a massive bonus, there are limited dead spots and the courts are well maintained.

Facilities – 10/10

The facilities at Destination Padel are the most elite we have come across in the Northwest of England. As mentioned previously, the club has five indoor courts, but also has a drinks and snacks bar, downstairs seating area, upstairs seating area (work hub), shower facilities and a stretch/social zone. Possessing these facilities makes this venue perfect for people who work remotely, meaning they can play a match and then get back on with what they need to do. Furthermore, having the gym/social zone means players are at less risk of picking up any sort of muscular injuries, as well as the fact that the courts are indoors (players will be less exposed to the cold weather during the winter months).

Location – 8/10

The club is located in Northwich and is easy to find via sat-nav if you have never visited before. The club has free parking outside and lots of bright writing to show players where it is. It would be ideal for Manchester players if the venue was a little closer to Manchester (around a 40-minute drive), but sometimes, you can’t choose these things! Destination Padel have announced they are building another club in Cheadle, coming late May 2025!

The main issue with the location is the distance from Manchester, which is where they would gain the majority of their players from. However, this does not seem an issue as they are always fully booked.

Overall score – 34/40

We have scored this club 34/40, equating to 8.5/10 overall! We can’t wait for our next visit to this club, and you can find Destination Padel – Northwich here: https://playtomic.com/clubs/destination-padel-northwich.
