On the 28th of February, the Britain Padel Tour starts it’s exciting new season at Rocket Padel in Ilford, North London. This event will see top British and Spanish talents battle it out to win the first tournament of the year.
In the last event at Leeds Slazenger Padel club, Alfonso Patacho and Chris Sailsbury took home the victory, with the pair looking to start this year in the same manner. The likes of Jake Bewley and Louie Harris are participating in the men’s draw who are 5th and 3rd ranked within the UK, respectively. Furthermore, on the Women’s side of the draw, it sees GB ranked number 3 Tia Norton take number 1 seeding in this specific tournament.

Alongside the British talent there are high level players from Spain also challenging for the title, Sergio Barroso who kicked off the year with a victory in the FIP Australian Padel open is seeded number 1 and will be looking to show why he is the highest rank at this tournament.
The event takes place over two days with the initial group stage matches taking part on the Friday and knockouts on the Saturday. The tournament features players from seven different countries and has No.1 pairs from four different nations. It promises some of the best Padel that the UK has ever seen!
Fabian David, the CEO of BPT said “Britain Padel Tour will continue to deliver excellence and innovation, always with the dream that one day, we can become the next British Premier Padel.”
This tour offers something different to players than the LTA and Adidas Home Of Padel tournaments, where ultimately the more tournaments that are organised, the better it is for the players. There is a hope that the increase of tournaments within the UK will only better the quality and aim to have a UK players making a regular appearance on the Premier Padel circuit.

The Britain Padel Tour this year will consist of eight events, six of them taking place over two days. BPT will host its first major in July, in Manchester. This tournament will hold the most ranking points. The top 16 players, based on ranking points, will battle it out in the BPT finals in London over the course of three days.
Fabian really expresses his ideology of community from grassroots upwards to the professional game, he told Proper Padel that “it is always for the players”. This thinking will only push the tournament further as it progresses within the UK.
It should be an exciting two days of the highest quality of Padel the UK has seen.
